IN THE PAST TWENTY-FOUR HOURS THE MARION COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE COMMUNICATIONS CENTER FIELDED 86 TOTAL PHONE CALLS INCLUDING 11 911 CALLS.
IN THE PAST TWENTY-FOUR HOURS MARION COUNTY DEPUTIES RESPONDED TO 19 CALLS FOR SERVICE INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO ONE PARKING COMPLAINT, TWO DOMESTICS, ONE DEBRIS IN THE ROADWAY, TWO CONTROLLED BURNS, ONE JUVENILE, TWO RECKLESS DRIVERS, ONE GRASS FIRE, ONE SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE, ONE BURGLARY, ONE LIVESTOCK IN THE ROADWAY, ONE PROPERTY DAMAGE ONLY ACCIDENT, ONE RETURN PHONE CALL, ONE DISTURBING THE PEACE, TWO EXTRA PATROLS AND ONE OTHER CALL FOR SERVICE.
THE MARION COUNTY JAIL IS CURRENTLY HOLDING 24 SUBJECTS.
IN THE PAST TWENTY-FOUR HOURS FOUR SUBJECTS WERE BOOKED INTO THE MARION COUNTY JAIL.

A strong offensive effort in the first half led the Pella Christian girls to their fifth straight win on Saturday, as the Lady Eagles picked up a 56-46 road win over Eddyville-Blakesburg.

The first of a pair of back-to-back non-conference doubleheaders left the Pella High basketball teams with a pair of home losses, as Dallas Center-Grimes defeated the Pella High girls 42-35 on Saturday afternoon, and the Mustang boys downed the Little Dutch 54-41.

Following a rough stretch earlier this month that included losses to Pella High, Norwalk, Des Moines Christian and Grinnell in a relatively short span of time, the Pella Christian boys basketball team is hoping that a 19-point win at Gilbert in their last outing will help return the team to its winning ways.
