The Pella School Board met in regular session yesterday. During the meeting they approved the new school year calendar, including the weekly professional development time on Wednesday afternoons. The professional development time has been an issue for some parents, but ultimately the board and the district feel that the early release plan will allow Pella schools to improve their education standards without having to raise the cost to the taxpayer.
