The Pleasantville basketball teams found themselves on both sides of close ball games Friday night, as the girls came up short in a 58-55 contest with Corning, while the Trojan boys triumphed 52-46 over the visiting Red Raiders. The loss drops the Pleasantville girls to 3-10 overall and 3-7 in the Pride of Iowa Conference.

The late game saw Hunter Van Haalen lead three Pleasantville players in double figures with 18 points, as the Trojans eeked out a defensive battle with Corning for a six-point win. Trever Voss added 12 important points, and Collin Thomas chipped in 11 to help lead Pleasantville.

Both the girls and boys basketball squads for Pleasantville will hit the road on Tuesday to face Wayne.
