What has until recently been a mild winter could lead to an early bloom. That’s what Sherryl Nunnikhoven tells KNIA/KRLS News about the warm winter season we have had leading up to this point. She says even with the cold snap, the warmth plus the lengthening of days could mean tulips blooming sooner then planned, and there isn’t really much we can do about it. She does say that with a hard freeze, you can cover your bed with mulch or another type of insulator to keep the cold in the ground for longer. Nunnikhoven says that can help delay the bloom of plants.
