A repeat of one of last year’s Class 2A Substate Finals will be played out tonight in Ankeny, as the PCM boys basketball team clashes with West Marshall for a chance to return to the State Tournament.  The Mustangs won that game in a low-scoring affair 33-31, and much of the talent from both teams returns for another go-around this season.

PCM head basketball coach Fred Lorensen says there are a lot of parallels between the two squads, including their style of play and caliber of players at each position.  He says his squad will have to play their best game of the season if they hope to pull out a win over a Trojans team that some have tabbed as the top 2A program in the state.  PCM enters the game with a 21-2 mark, while West Marshall is 23-0.

Tonight’s Class 2A Semifinal will be broadcast live on 92.1 fm KRLS with Eric Gotschall and Mark Amadeo providing the call.  Coverage from Ankeny will begin at 6:45 p.m.
