On Monday Central College is hosting a speaker being presented by Helping Hands for Haiti. Silentor Esthil-Henderson was originally born in Hait. He was adopted by a family here in Iowa, graduated from ISU, and now is leading multiple efforts to help children from his home country. He is leading the Helping Hands “180 for Haiti” campaign to build a school. Treva Reimer with Central tells KNIA/KRLS News that the speaking event was a last minute opportunity, and the college is excited to be hosting him. Esthil-Henderson will be speaking at Central College on Monday about humanitarian work in Haiti. the event will be in the Ghram Conference Center at 7:00 PM, the event is free to attend.
