Despite Five Pins, Pella Wrestlers Come up Just Short at Oskaloosa, 34-33

Too many open weight classes came back to bite the Pella High wrestling team last night, as they were edged 34-33 in a dual at Oskaloosa. The Little Dutch gave the Indians free points at 152, 160 and 170 pounds; and both teams were open at 182 pounds.
Five of Pella’s six wins on the night came by pins, as Zine Stough at 106, David Wiley at 126, Kyle Langstraat at 132, Zakk Belloma at 138 and Houston Naaktgeboren at Heavyweigh all held their opponents to the mat for three consecutive seconds. The Pella wrestlers are off until the District meet on February 11th at Knoxville.

113: Levi Azinger lost by decision 6-12 vs. Skylar DeJong
120: Chase Petty lost by major decision 5-14 vs. Nate Caves
126: David Wiley won by pin in 4:00 vs. Mitchell Schaffner
132: Kyle Langstraat won by pin in 2:53 vs. Tanner Wanders
138: Zakk Belloma won by pin in 3:38 vs. Gage Simmons
145: Austin La Follette won by decision 10-8 vs. Jared Pace
152: Cody Jones of Osky won by forfeit
160: Drea Lamb of Osky won by forfeit
170: Mason Wisse of Osky won by forfeit
182: Both teams were open
195: Logan Van Brogan lost by fall in 1:33 vs. Dane Jones
220: Bryce Dawson lost by decision 0-4 vs. Cody Tuttle
HWT: Houston Naaktgeboren won by pin in 4:31 vs. Dylan Tuttle
