The Knoxville Kiwanis club has plans to put two new playgrounds in Young’s Park. Ernie Smith, with the Kiwanis Club, says that the two playgrounds will be for different age groups and will be handicap accessible. The Kiwanis club has pitched their idea to the Knoxville Parks Commission and City Council. Both boards have spoken positively about the project. Smith says that they’ve applied for a number of grants and are also selling bricks and benches to raise funds for the project. There will have more information on the project at the Helping Hands Kids’ Carnival this Sunday at Knoxville Middle School.
