The Knoxville Police Department is offering more direct communication when issuing a snow ordinance. Police Chief Dan Losada says that, despite waiting until after midnight last Thursday, they still gave out more than 80 citations. That was five hours after the snow ordinance had been enacted. Losada is offering citizens a chance to be on an email list in order to improve the process. Those on the list would be notified when the snow ordinance is being enacted. For more information, contact the Knoxville Police Department. Losada says he also informs KNIA/KRLS right away when issuing the snow ordinance.

If you would like to be included on the email list, send your name, address, and email address to policechief@cityofknoxville.us or kpdrecords@hotmail.com.
