The PCM boys basketball team can build on its 16-game win streak and get one step closer to a return to the State Tournament with a win tonight, as they’ll face Davis County in all-Mustangs Class 2A District Final in Ottumwa. Davis County is 14-7 following their gritty 62-60 win over Eddyville-Blakesburg in last Thursday’s semifinal round, while PCM is 20-2 and coming off of a 57-49 win over Pella Christian.

“They’re [Davis County] very good. They’ve got some good size, some good perimeter players – just really well balanced offensively, it looks like,” said PCM boys’ head basketball coach Fred Lorensen. “They play really tough man-to-man defense most of the time with a little zone defense thrown in occasionally. Davis County is very well coached, and they’re going to be a good challenge for us.”

You can hear the live broadcast of tonight’s Class 2A Boys District Final between PCM and Davis County on 92.1 fm KRLS with Eric Gotschall and Mark Amadeo providing the call. Coverage from Evans Middle School in Ottumwa begins at 6:45 p.m. and will also be streamed live at kniakrls.com.
