Knoxville finished second in both boys and girls sub state bowling yesterday held at Fairlane Bowl in Knoxville. The Panther girls knocked down a total of 2,330 pins just 58 shy of first place Newton, Pella Christian finished sixth place with a total of 1,729 pins. The boy’s race was even closer with Des Moines Hoover taking the sub state by a mere ten pins over the Panthers 2,603-2,593 with Pella Christian in third place with 2,511 pins. Individually for the Knoxville girls…Haley Mathes was third with a 355 and Jocelyn Beaver rolled a 326 to finish sixth. On the boys side, Knoxville’s Trey Pottorff rolled a 372 for runner-up while Jake Weldon had a 371 finishing in third place. Pella Christian’s Jordan Rossler finished in sixth place with a 353. No local teams or individuals were able to qualify for the state meet.
