Missing the services of some very key contributors left the PCM boys playing catch-up at host Gilbert on Tuesday night, and while the Mustangs needed eight extra minutes to get it done, they still returned home with a 65-63 double overtime win in tow. The PCM girls, meanwhile, again could not find an answer to one of the better squads in the Heart of Iowa Conference, as they were limited offensively in a 35-21 loss.

With Nate VandeWall and Dillon Bruxvoort out with injuries, and Scott Bruxvoort unavailable for the first half, the Mustangs trailed 26-18 at the intermission. PCM claimed a 41-36 advantage entering the fourth quarter, but the Tigers clawed back to tie the game at 51-51 to end regulation. Defense shone brightly in the first overtime, as both teams finished the extra four minutes at 56-56. With more bonus minutes on the clock, the Mustangs eventually got the push they needed, hanging on for the two-point lead.
