Though Pella Christian’s basketball teams did not get to host Colo-Nesco Saturday because of heavy snowfall, the Eagles still have a lot to look forward to in the form of another big home game this Tuesday night.  It’s “United for the Cause” between Pella Christian and Pella High, as the two schools in the same community join together in support of those affected by cancer and cancer awareness.

Lady Eagles’ head coach Kevin Van Maanen says the event will provide a great atmosphere for the night, adding that any game against Pella High is always expected to be a great match-up.  Larry Hessing, head coach for the Pella Christian boys adds that it will be great to see fans from both schools come together for the night and get the chance to see some great basketball while they’re there.

The main fundraising push for this year’s event is the purchase of paper “bricks” to build a “Wall of Hope” at Pella Christian High School.  The bricks can be purchased at either Pella High or Pella Christian High School on Monday, and will also be available on Tuesday night before the game.  Every dollar raised goes directly to the American Cancer Society.
