Following a strong 2010-11 campaign that saw nearly every player with significant experience graduate, there were a lot of unknowns facing the Pella High girls basketball team when this past season began. With an entirely new starting line-up in place, the question of who would lead the Lady Dutch was quickly answered, though, as forward Regan Cooper was dominant in the opening games of the season – a pair of hard-fought losses to a pair of very good squads from Ballard and Williamsburg.

Cooper averaged 18.5 points and 16 rebounds in those first two games in what would become a typical stat line for the hard-nosed senior. She finished her senior season in green and white averaging 16.91 points per game, placing her atop the Little Hawkeye Conference, and among the top 15 players in all of Class 3A in that scoring average. Cooper is one of eight seniors – including all five starters – that guided the Pella High girls basketball team to a 13-10 overall record and a second-place finish in the conference.
