For the second time this season, the Pleasantville basketball teams notched a sweep of Southeast Warren; topping the host Warhawks 46-43 in the girls’ game, followed by a dominant 72-49 Pleasantville win in the boys’ contest.

Alessia Luna’s 13 points was tops for the Trojan girls, while Kennedy Core knocked down four 3-pointers to finish with 12 points. The Pleasantville girls finish the regular season with a 6-15 overall record and a 5-11 mark in the Pride of Iowa Conference. They’ll travel to Urbandale to face Des Moines Christian in the first round of the Class 2A Regional Tournament on Saturday.

The boys’ game saw eight Pleasantville players put their name in the scoring column, led by 27 points from Hunter Van Haalen. Collin Thomas had another solid outing with 16 points, and D.J. Weaver provided a boost with 9 points. The Trojans are 17-3 overall and 13-3 in the Pride of Iowa Conference. Next they’ll get in a non-conference tune-up with Colfax-Mingo on Thursday.
