[simage=7014,max,n,center,]The preliminary budget for the City of Pella was discussed at this weeks Pella City Council Meeting. The proposed budget for the city would come in at just shy of 39 million dollars of spending. According to Pella City Administrator Mike Nardini, the property tax rate, electric utility rate, and water service rates will remain the same under the current proposal. Wastewater service rates will be increased slightly because of a mandate made by the Iowa DNR. The first budget work session is Thursday at 6:30 at the Pella Public Safety Complex.
