The Central College baseball team is hopeful to dodge the recent soggy weather and open up the Iowa Conference schedule today with a nine-inning contest against Wartburg College. The Dutch are 9-3 after a strong spring break campaign in Florida, while the Knights are at 7-7 overall and coming off of a split against Gustavus Adolphus College over the weekend.

The two teams ended up tied for third place in this season’s Iowa Conference preseason coaches’ poll, though Central did garner one first place vote. The first pitch of the Iowa Conference season-opener for Central College is set for 6:00 p.m. tonight and will be the first contest in a three-game series. Saturday’s doubleheader will be broadcast live on 92.1 fm KRLS.
