The softball and baseball teams at Central College are each selected to finish third in their respective league races, as voted on by the coaches in the Iowa Conference.

In softball, the Iowa Conference is again ultra-competitive, with Luther, Coe and Central all ranked inside the top 15 Division III teams in the nation.  A season ago, five of the nine softball teams in the Iowa Conference had 24 wins or more.  Luther College garnered seven first place votes, while Coe claimed the other two in the preseason projections.  Last season Central was 39-9 and captured a share of the league title.

The Iowa Conference will also be solid again in baseball, where the Dutch are tabbed to finish behind Buena Vista and Coe.  Central shares the No. 3 projection with Wartburg.  Last season Central went 22-19 overall and return three all-conference selections from a season ago.  The Central College softball and baseball teams have their respective seasons underway with spring break action in Arizona and Florida.

The Iowa Conference slate opens on March 23rd for the Central baseball team against Wartburg, while the Dutch softball team opens with Luther on March 31st.  KNIA/KRLS will feature three broadcasts for each program on consecutive Saturdays this spring.
