Marion County Democratic Party Chair Anita Martin tells KNIA/KRLS News she thought their county convention went very well on Saturday morning. About 30 people attended the convention at the Knoxville Senior Citizen Center. That number included 20 delegates, seven alternates, and three other people.

Martin says that discussion on the platform went very smoothly. A few planks were added, but they were done on discussion in less than two hours.

After the discussion, Martin says Senate Candidate Dick Schrad and House Candidate Megan Suhr were both able to hold a very nice question and answer session. Eleven delegates were elected to represent the county at the district and state conventions.

Next up, Martin says, is the county organizational meeting. That’s on Wednesday, March 21st at 6pm at Swamp Fox in Knoxville.
