With temperatures expected in the mid-70s for much of this week, the severe weather season won’t be far behind. Marion County Emergency Management Coordinator Jeff Anderson tells KNIA/KRLS News that everything he’s read about says that this could be one of the worst severe weather seasons on record. He says that with that in mind, it’s important that you have an emergency plan in place with your family. Anderson notes that many people depend almost exclusively on cell phones for communication. He says that you need to have a backup plan in case cell phone coverage gets knocked out, which is what happened in southern Missouri earlier this month.

Anderson says that you should also be sure your batteries in your weather radio are ready, and to listen to KNIA/KRLS to know the latest information from the Emergency Management Office.
