The Knoxville City Council will hold a public hearing to consider the 2012-2013 city budget during their regular meeting Monday evening. After the hearing, they’ll consider action on the budget. It includes a variety of new services, such as an additional police officer and paid weekend shifts for Knoxville Fire & Rescue. City Manager Harold Stewart says he encourages citizens to take a look at the budget and share with the Council their thoughts during the hearing.

They’ll also discuss job descriptions for the position of Fire Chief and a new Assistant City Manager position, and will set a hearing date about possibly refunding general obligation bonds, among other items. The meeting is at 6:15pm at Knoxville City Hall. It can be heard live on 1320 KNIA.
