Two area boys soccer teams open their respective seasons today in Pella, as Pella Christian hosts PCM in non-conference play. Eagles’ head coach Josh Visser says the team has high expectations for what they can accomplish this season and are excited to begin competition against an athletic squad like the Mustangs.

“I’m shooting for the stars here this year. We were 6-10 last season; we had some real tough losses, [and] we had some good wins,” said Visser. “There’s going to be some good teams out there, but this year I’m going to switch some things around, and I expect us to compete very well this spring. I’m excited.”

Competition in Pella begins at 5:30 p.m. today.
