An incredibly challenging slate of games begins this afternoon for the Central College softball team, as the Dutch head to Decorah to face Iowa Conference rival Luther College in a doubleheader. Central is ranked No. 7 in the latest national poll, while the Norse are holding on to the No. 5 spot – setting up what should be another thrilling showdown between two of the league’s three powerhouse programs.

Though Central surely has their sights set squarely on today’s competition, they’ve also got a clash with No. 3 Coe College on the horizon this coming Wednesday; and a contest with perennial tournament-contender Washington-St. Louis after that.

Today’s softball twinbill at Luther College will be broadcast live on 92.1 fm KRLS with Eric Gotschall providing the play-by-play. Opening pitch is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. and can also be streamed live at kniakrls.com.
