Though plenty of members of this past season’s Melcher-Dallas girls basketball team are expected to return next season, the Saints will unquestionably have a much different look and personality. That’s because the four seniors Melcher-Dallas graduates were key players on the floor – not only this year, but last season as well.

“I can’t say enough about those seniors; the leadership that they showed and the work and helping the younger kids throughout the year. That’s just what you want out of seniors,” said Saints’ head coach Jon Suntken. “All four of them, we’ll miss them to death, and wish them nothing but the best luck in the future. They were a huge part in the growth of this team and this program over the past two years. They really had to step up this year, and for the most part, they did. They did a really good job.”

Seniors Delaney Jensen, Amanda Marlin and Sydney Wilson were the Saints’ top scorers – in that order – and Sydney Fee was a strong role player who unfortunately battled injuries throughout the season. The Melcher-Dallas girls basketball team finished the season 9-13 overall and went 5-3 in the Bluegrass Conference, finishing in a tie for third in the league standings.
