[simage=4718,200,y,left] A jury in Clarke County has found Michael Miller guilty of murder in the first-degree. The jury finished deliberating just after 10:30, according to officials at the Clarke County Courthouse. Miller was tried for first-degree murder in the death of his wife, Theresa Miller. The State of Iowa said that Miller hired Terry Cobbins, Jr. to kill Theresa so he could be with another woman. Cobbins was found guilty of first-degree murder earlier this month.

Michael Miller now faces a maximum prison sentence of life in prison. He’s been brought back to the Marion County Jail and will be sentenced on April 27, 2012. The case was prosecuted by Marion County Attorney Ed Bull and Assistant Attorney General Andy Prosser.

Bull says that it’s difficult to feel happy with the outcome as nothing will ever bring Teresa Miller back. He says that no one deserves to die in the manner that she did. Bull thanks the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation , and the Iowa Attorney General’s Office for their tireless investigation and assistance. Without their hard work, Bull adds, Miller and Cobbins would not have faced justice for their “heinous crime.”
