Though they weren’t able to defend their title from a season ago, the Pella Christian boys finished in a tight cluster at the top of the team standings in Friday’s Norwalk Invite. The Eagles shot a 343, good enough for fourth place, though just 4 strokes back of Clarke and Norwalk, who tied for first place.

Sophomore Mason Howerzyl led the Pella Christian boys with an 18-hole score of 78 – finishing third in a three-man playoff for the top score. Drew Stravers had the second best score for the Eagles with an 83.

The Pella Christian boys golf team will be right back in Norwalk on Monday for their next meet – a triangular against the host Warriors and Pella High.

Mason Howerzyl – 78
Drew Stravers – 83
Blake Riggen – 89
Justin Stravers – 93
Brennan Veenstra – 97
Josh Posthuma – 102
