After having a few athletes tied up during the girls’ State Basketball Tournament, and then nearly the entire team gone during last week’s Spring Break, the Pella Christian girls track and field team should be able to fully focus on the season ahead this week. Lady Eagles’ head coach Kevin Herdegen says the entire team is already off to a good start to the season.

“I think as a team we’re feeling very excited about this season. We have a great group of girls, all the way from the seniors down to the freshmen. We graduated three seniors last year, so we have a lot of experience coming back,” said Herdegen. “The upperclassmen so far have shown great leadership, the freshman have brought great energy, and I think everybody’s just excited about the season. The weather’s made it nice to be outdoors, and we’re all looking forward to our first outdoor track meet.”

That first outdoor meet will come on March 27th, when Pella Christian competes at Chariton.
