The road back to the Class 2A Boys State Basketball Tournament has been full of bumps and curves for the PCM boys basketball team, but the Mustangs have managed to navigate their way through all of the obstacles to give themselves a shot at postseason glory.

Senior Scott Bruxvoort says “adversity” has been a running theme to this season, and says the way he and his teammates have handled themselves this season is something they’re very proud of and that they’re excited to be back at the State Tournament.

An ankle injury suffered in the District Finals forced Bruxvoort to miss last Saturday’s Substate Finals, but his teammates rallied to hold on for a one-point win, handing rival West Marshall their first loss of the season.  Bruxvoort is hopeful to rehab the injury in time for Tuesday’s State Quarterfinals, when his No. 2-seeded Mustangs face seventh-seeded Fort Dodge St. Edmond.
