Another impressive season ended prematurely in the minds of the PCM boys basketball team, and with the conclusion to the 2011-12 season with the loss in the Class 2A State Quarterfinals, so ends the high school basketball careers for twelve seniors that made up this year’s Mustangs squad.

PCM head coach Fred Lorensen said this year’s group has been a tight bunch that spends time together in multiple venues and really understands the meaning of being part of a team.

“They’ve just been together for so long, doing things together, whether it’s football, basketball, track, baseball – or whatever it is – they just hang out together and like each other.  I said if you’re going to go down, go down with your teammates,” said Lorensen.

“We’ve just had a great run.  We’re going to miss them.  We’ve got some good kids coming back, and we’re optimistic about the future, too, but it just wasn’t what we wanted this year.”

The 53-52 loss to St. Edmond in Tuesday’s State Quarterfinals left the PCM boys at 22-3 on the season.
