A first-half goal by Dan Hessing opened up the scoring for the Pella Christian boys soccer team on Thursday night, as the Eagles shut out PCM 4-0 in Pella in non-conference play.
Hessing’s first goal came on an assist on a corner kick from Jon Lensing with 18:45 remaining in the first half. That score would hold through the first half, but after the intermission, the offense began clicking for Pella Christian as Hessing added his second goal of the night and John Admiraal and Seth Ruiter also found the back of the net.
The Eagles are now 1-0 and will enter a busy schedule next week that will see them face three opponents at home. The PCM boys soccer team is 0-1 and resumes competition next week against Grandview Park Baptist.
