Pella Christian shot just over 90% from the free throw line, but ultimately it wasn’t enough to keep up with the opposition. The Western Christian Wolfpack held back rush after rush from the Pella Christian girls, who repeatedly closed the gap between the two teams only to have Western pull away again. This is the first girls basketball title that Western has won, but also it’s the highest achievement that the Lady Eagles have reached. Last year the team made it to State, only to be knocked out in the first round. The Pella Christian Girls Close this season 23-4, ending the year on a bittersweet note. The Game at Wells Fargo Arena drew to a close with Western Christian on top of Pella Christian, 67-57.
