The postseason accolades are piling up for Pella Christian’s Jasmin Schelhaas.  Already named as one of six members of the exclusive Class 2A All-Tournament team – where she was joined by teammate Christina Nolte – Schelhaas has been selected for two additional honors based not only on what she’s done on the basketball court this season, but also by what she does off it.

Prior to the Lady Eagles’ State Final against Western Christian, Schelhaas was presented a plaque by the Iowa Bankers Association as the recipient of the IBA Student Achievement Award.  She has also been named as one of 31 players from across all classes for the Iowa Basketball Coaches Association Academic All-State Team.  The 16th annual team is comprised of athletes who have a minimum standard of a 25 ACT composite, 3.25 GPA and are in the top 25 percent of their senior class.

Schelhaas averaged 13 points per game in the three games Pella Christian played in the Class 2A State Basketball Tournament, along with 2.3 steals and 3 assists per contest.  The senior will attend Dordt College this fall, where she will continue her basketball career.
