This morning the city of Pella began testing of it’s upgraded warning siren system. The siren upgrade was due to a mandate from the FCC for narrow banding of the system. The sirens sounded a tornado alarm shortly after ten. According to the Pella Police Department, tests will continue through the day to ensure proper operation of the system. The sirens are being finished just before the severe weather season starts, and will help the city be prepared. When severe weather strikes, KNIA/KRLS will keep you updated First, Fast, and Accurately.
