Pleasantville Boys Track and Field Squad Still in Early Preparation Stage for 2012 Season

The Pleasantville boys track and field team is hard at work in preparation for what they hope can be a very successful season. Affectionately dubbed, “the offseason sport”, Trojans’ head coach Tim Koerselman says many of his athletes use the spring as an opportunity to improve their strength and conditioning for other sports, and says the squad’s current focus hasn’t even begun to touch on some of the finer points of running, jumping and throwing.

“It’s not even an early season, it’s an offseason workout for us now. We are really hitting it hard in the weight room and anaerobic conditioning, building up our lactic acid threshold – those are things we’re working on real hard right now,” said Koerselman. “As far as a lot of the technique yet for long jump, high jump… no, we’re still busting bodies down. That other stuff will come later.”

The Pleasantville boys will see their first competition of the season on April 3rd, when they travel to Monroe for a co-ed meet hosted by PCM.
