While the high school basketball season is still fresh in the minds of many players, coaches and fans, the anticipation of the dawn of a new season is not far off. For many teams, that means independent workouts in the spring months, and eventually team camps and summer leagues once school lets out. With the entire starting line-up and a wealth of young talent returning next season, Twin Cedars head coach Alan Stewart says his team needs to find ways to improve over the summer if they want to better their performance from this past season.

“For us to beat the top four teams, we have to compete in the offseason. If we don’t do that, it’s going to be the same as last season – we’re going to finish fourth,” said Stewart. “I don’t want to finish fourth next year, so our boys have to come back better than where we were this season, and hopefully our game improves. If we work on it in the offseason, it should take care of itself.”

The Twin Cedars boys basketball team had an solid 2011-12 season, more than doubling last year’s total wins by finishing 11-12 and claiming fourth place in the Bluegrass Conference with a 5-3 league mark.
