Led by a record-breaking performance from their Shuttle Hurdle Relay team, the Twin Cedars girls track and field team opened the outdoor season on a promising note at Thursday night’s DeWitt Invitational at Clarke in Osceola. The team of Kassidy Swayne, Sam Hamman, Alee Hugen and Brianna Wimmer lowered their own school record in the Shuttle Hurdle Relay, on their way to a first place finish.

Other highlights for the Twin Cedars girls included third-place finishes in the 4×100, 4×200 and Sprint Medley Relays, as well as individual bronze medals for Brittney Roby in the 3000 meters and Ayla Crosby in the 200 meter dash.

In all, the Sabers scored points in nearly every event they competed in.
