Sign Regulations on County Roads
Posted By news On March 23, 2012 @ 6:26 am In Today’s Local News | Comments Disabled
The Marion County Secondary Roads Department reminds everyone that the Iowa Code prohibits signs being placed on any road right-of-way. This includes but is not limited to advertising, reality, and political signs. Roads department officials say that generally speaking, field fences and power poles are on the right-of-way border and can be used to determine where the right-of-way is. If the county removes a sign from the right-of-way, they may do so at the owner’s expense. If you have any questions or need to know the location of the right-of-way, call the Marion County Secondary Roads Department at 641-828-2225.
