Hopes of repeating as Little Hawkeye Conference champions are still alive, as the Pella Christian girls tennis team notched an 8-3 home win over Newton. After receiving extra attention early in the season, doubles has become the Lady Eagles’ strong suit, as Pella Christian earned five of their eight points by sweeping doubles.
The remaining team points came from victories by Aubree Else, Megan Van Kooten and Paige Engbers in singles. The Pella Christian girls tennis team is off until Saturday, when they take part in a tournament at Pella High.
