Ball Control Emphasized as Pella High Girls Soccer Preps for Nevada Tourney

On the heels of several blowout victories, the Pella High girls soccer team is likely to see some real challenges today, as the Lady Dutch take part in a tournament at Nevada. While Pella’s offense has looked strong thus far, head coach Sam Mate-Kodjo says the team has recently put a greater emphasis on controlling the ball in tight spaces to elevate their game to the next level.
The Pella High girls soccer team will start the day off against Ames – a 3A club – at 11:15 a.m., then play either Gilbert or Union in game two. Should they advance to the finals, it’s possible the Lady Dutch will match-up against Nevada – a top ten Class 1A program.
