After a weekend series where hits were hard to come by, the Central College baseball team brought the bats out in a big way in Wednesday’s 7-3 win over Simpson College. The Dutch racked up 12 hits against the Storm, securing a three-game sweep of their nearby rivals.

Shortstop Mike Furlong and first baseman Seth Carson each went 2-for-5 at the plate; with Furlong doubling twice, scoring once and batting in a run. Carson scored twice. Lefty Ryan Dusil got the start and earned the win, his fourth of the season. The sophomore threw six innings, giving up one earned run on two hits.

The Dutch are now 20-5 overall and 10-2 in the Iowa Conference and are back on the field Friday for a home game against Luther.
