Gaiser Sets School Record, Pella High Girls Win Tulip Time Relays

The Pella High girls continued their assault on the track and field season, turning their home track advantage into another victory in the Tulip Time Relays Thursday evening.  The Lady Dutch tallied 181 points in Class AA, well ahead of second place Ottumwa.  The PCM girls, meanwhile, took fifth with 64 points.  

In Class A, Twin Cedars scored 43 points to finish in sixth place; just in front of a short-handed Pella Christian squad that put up 39 points.  Pekin took the team title in Class AA with 150 points.  

Meet highlights included ten gold medals for the Pella High Lady Dutch, who dominated the relay events and saw Marielle Gaiser set new meet and school records in the 100 Meter Hurdles; along with a meet record for the Shuttle Hurdle Relay team.  

PCM got gold out of Abbi Gilson in the Discus; while Pella Christian’s Maddie Fopma won the High Jump and the Twin Cedars took gold in the Shuttle Hurdle Relay.
