Second and third places were claimed by the Pella High and Knoxville boys track and field teams at Monday night’s Norwalk Invitational. The Little Dutch scored 121 points in the team standings – 30 behind Des Moines Lincoln. The Panthers scored a 102 for third place in the nine-team field. The runner-up finish for Pella was the first time this season Brent VanHauen’s squad had not taken first place.

Meet highlights included first place finishes for Pella High from Keegan Fitzsimmons in the 1600 Meters, Ryan Sievers in the 3200 Meters and the team’s Shuttle Hurdle and 4×800 Meter Relays. The Little Dutch added silver medals from Jace Versteeg in the 110 Hurdles, Lukas Steenhoek in the 400 Meter Dash, Aaron Houtz in the 800 Meter Run and Pella’s 4×400 Meter Relay team.

Knoxville earned individual golds from Derek Seddon in the Discus and Blake Wyatt in the 800 Meter Run. Seddon added a silver medal for the Panthers in the Shot Put, along with runner-up finishes by Jacob Moats in the High Jump and Knoxville’s 4×100, 4×200, 4×800 and Sprint Medley Relays.
