A clash of three of the of the top boys golf teams in the Little Hawkeye Conference teed off against each other Monday night in Norwalk, with Pella High holding off the host Warriors and Pella Christian.
Led by a nine-hole score of 33 from Lucas Boyd, Pella High finished with a team score of 152; ten strokes ahead of Norwalk. The Eagles, meanwhile, fell just one stroke back of the Warriors, finishing with a 163. Boyd’s 3-under par round earned him medalist honors for the meet, while Pella Christian’s Mason Howerzyl tied for runner-up honors with a 38.
Both Pella Christian and Pella High boys golf teams have a bit of a wait until their next meet. The Eagles will compete again next Tuesday, when they host Oskaloosa at Bos Landen in Pella. It’s an even longer wait for the Little Dutch, who travel to a triangular with PCM at Dallas Center-Grimes on April 12th.
