Sidewalk and paving contracts were approved this week by the Knoxville City Council. According to documents submitted by Public Works Director Jeff May to the Council, the city has four paving projects that will be funded by the Local Option Sales Tax this year. They will be in the Westridge Area; Jackson street from Gebhardt to Highway 14; panel repairs on Madison Street from Roche Street to Highway 14 and Hospital area repairs.

The sidewalk repairs this year include the area south of Robinson and east of Roche Streets; the area south of Pleasant Street and north of Robinson Street; and the northeast area of Knoxville.

The West Area Relief Sewer Project is already underway.
