Facing some of the toughest competition they’d seen all season, the PCM girls track and field team battled their way to an 8th place finish out of a 14-team field in Thursday night’s meet at Guthrie Center. The Mustangs scored 44 points as a team, while Des Moines Christian took the team title with 96.33 points.

It was a big meet for the Mustangs’ Brilee McWilliams, who threw a season’s best in the discus to give her matching golds in both throwing events. PCM’s Shuttle Hurdle Relay team also notched a season’s best time to earn second place, and the squad added bronze medals from the 4×200 Meter Relay and Abbi Gilson in the Discus to round out their top performances.

Up next for the PCM girls is a Tuesday meet at Montezuma.
