New Equipment at the Pella Fire Department

The Pella Fire Department has received some new equipment in time for summer. Pella Ambulance got a grant from the Pella Community Foundation to purchase equipment to keep firefighters from overheating on long calls. The firefighters now have access to a misting tent, chairs, and special cooling towels. Pella Fire Chief Doug Van Gorkom says it’s very easy for firefighters to overheat while wearing their gear.
