Pella finished second and Knoxville was third at the Knoxville Girls Tennis Invitational yesterday. Battling less than ideal conditions for tennis, Knoxville’s Emily Lee and Kassie Griggs teamed up for runner-up in doubles. They beat a team from Centerville in the first round, then lost to a team from Clarke in the finals. The Lady Dutch had Jessie Ryals take 3rd place and Morgan Ernst place 6th in singles; while the tandem of Zoe Vermeer and Tiffany Carter placed 6th in doubles. Along with Knoxville, Pella, Centerville and Clarke were squads from Chariton and Davis County. Clarke won the event with 31 points.
