The Pella High and Knoxville boys track and field teams dominated the Charger Relays in Chariton Tuesday night, taking the top two spots in the team standings. The Little Dutch scored 177 points, with the Panthers scoring 123.5.
Highlights for Pella High included individual wins by Chris Brogden in the 100 Meters, Ryan Shull in the 200 Meters, Taylor Cox in the 400 Meter Hurdles, Wade Pingel in the 800 Meter Run and Zach Buchheit in the 1600 Meter Run. The Little Dutch also placed first in the Shuttle Hurdle, 4×800 and “Weightman’s” 4×100 Meter Relay.
Knoxville dominated the remaining relays, taking gold in the 4×100, 4×200 and 4×400 Meter Relays; along with field event victories by Derek Seddon in the Discus and Jacob Moats in the High Jump.
In the small school division of the meet, the Melcher-Dallas boys finished with 59 points for 7th place; while Twin Cedars took 9th with 30 points. The Sabers placed in nearly every relay event, highlighted by fifth-place finishes in the 4×100 and 4×200 Meter Relays.
