The Central College men’s and women’s track and field squads broke two records on second day of the Jim Duncan Invitational Saturday. Morgan Darrow’s throw of 168 feet, one inch broke her previous mark of 167-5 from 2011 and was good for a runner-up finish in a field of Division I, II, and III competitors. Darrow also recorded a fourth-place finish in the shot put.

The Dutch men placed their 4×100 relay team among the best in Division III. The squad of Trevor Veach, Logan Danko, Kyle Wood, and Allen Scovel crossed the line in a time of 41.31, several ticks faster than their 2011 season’s best of 41.35. That marks currently ranks third in Division III. The same line-up finished fifth at last year’s NCAA championships.

The Dutch will play host to Central Open next Saturday at Ron and Joyce Schipper Stadium in Pella. Field events will begin at 10 a.m. with running events starting at 11 a.m.
