Facing yet another road test Tuesday night in Newton, the Pella High boys soccer team relied on precision passing and defensive intensity to notch a 3-1 win over the Cardinals. The Little Dutch held a 1-0 halftime lead, courtesy of a Shenstone Huang goal.

Newton came firing back in the second half, pressuring Pella’s defense and sneaking a goal past keeper Ben Robertson to tie the game with 27 minutes remaining. The Little Dutch responded with a header from Grant Barrick and were boosted by a free kick goal from Pauly Apostolopoulos to secure the victory.

The Pella High boys soccer team is now 4-1-1 on the season and will host Dallas Center-Grimes on Friday.
